True Face
Uncertainty of distance,
the measured steps of line,
as much as I’d like to visit
your home, I stay in mine.
Screens linger beside me
sometimes I get lost
in all those bodiless voices,
between walls they float across.
These are my ghosts today
electric warriors of mind
protectors of my sanity
against loneliness and time.
Distressed, now tumbling,
I remember my true face.
I remain in this moment
There is no other place.
