wonders
never silent, always bright
we prepare our land with care
calmly cast away the night
so nothing must be tended there.
these silver-lined fields of cars
rain sheets over them equally,
buildings, runways, electric stars.
with fairly tight-lipped certainty
we know our comfort is secure now
and tomorrow is just a dream.
claiming that which no one owns,
blind visions confidently rendered
our backs turned, wonders of dust and rose
rise invisibly and pass, unhindered.
