Sun/Bird

you are the sun, jay bird

handsome, bright, brazen,

dashing, daring, darting,

picking morsels from acorns

shiny and tight

The sun you are

shining in flight above

unbound by oak canopy

reaching overhead

lifting sugar sap rising

through their veins

honey gold from light

from distant star, to bright leaf,

to acorn, to your breakfast

that crafts you from air

so close, blinding

I can barely see

every part of you, from sharp

tip to cobalt tail is the sun

shining from 93 million miles away

blue so bright

to my backyard
